Soapstone is a good choice for a kitchen as it is both heat and stain resistant. Its honed surface creates a casual feel.

• Available in shades of gray with hints of green, black and blue.  The color darkens with age
• Requires some maintenance, including occasional applications of mineral oil 
• Both stain and heat resistant
• A softer stone that may scratch over time
